I am a semi-professional photographer, enjoying landscape photography for pleasure. I also accept wedding and portrait commissions and enjoy working with light to create unique, unforgettable images. I work exclusively in film, preferring the colour rendition and resolution of this medium as well as the mindset of unhurried contemplation that a film camera fosters. The majority of my landscape work uses a traditional "Large Format" camera, the sort that birthed photography. I disappear underneath a dark cloth to compose the image which appears upside-down on the camera's ground glass screen. The experience is closer to painting with an easel than using a modern camera, and the rewards are images with truly stunning levels of detail that draw in the viewer like no other medium. My wedding and portrait work includes off-camera studio lighting for creative control and effect. I can develop both black and white and colour film myself and I hand print black and white photographs.
