This is the digital and orthodox photography of Stephen Jackson: landscape and the natural world, social commentary, portraiture and our human form. (Please note that a few images in this gallery might not be considered suitable for children.)

The work reflects my pleasures, but it also tries to address the inner fears that each of us must eventually tackle: including mortality, the need to make sense of what has been gained and lost: and all the melancholy casualties in those universal (I baulk at suggesting they might be necessary) battlefields that litter human aspirations and language. The tiny obsessions of early middle age: the games all of us sometimes have to play - these are my canvas; and there are few outright winners here, except of the most ephemeral kind.

Yet it*s surprising, in trying to make sense, how many occasions for humour and optimism one finds along the way.
