The MFAB presence on the towns Market Fields provided an extensive range of commercial stalls for the towns locals and visitors. A FAIR was also in full swing for children, on the adjacent Civic Hall Car Park, not to mention the VERY Big Beer Tent, which was always in full swing wetting the whistles, with a number of fast food outlets for all tastes.

St Michael and all Angels Church, was one of the main centres where a very high level of activity was to be found, both INSIDE, and OUTSIDE of the church, all of the time. The whole of the weekend was attended by very dedicated group of helpers, with such activities as music, singing, dancing groups, and LOADS of great food, with games and stalls for our younger children. ALL time, tea, coffee, cold drinks, and hot food such as burgers and bites with loads of tomato source. Credit also, to the group of people that arranged for all of the very splendid flower arrangements and the professional lighting in the church nave that added greatly in vewing the artists and singers perform, including, Black Umfolosi. This group of young men, have also during the previous week been giving our local school children lessons in African dancing and singing. A special thank you to them must be given for their very vocal and energetic contribution. The additional new and professional lighting in the church nave helped tremendously to view the activities taking place in the church (and also helped for my photographs !!!).

It is a normal British Tradition for Dancers at Events of this nature to parade through the town centre in order to show the towns people who and what will be dancing at the events. Some how, the normal British summer weather held out from raining !!, until this part of the weekends fun and entertainment had been completed.

They bring together a combination of vivid dress colour, authentic costum design with a very high level of dancing excellence in the art of Rock and Roll. Join in with them, each month on the dance floor at the Middlewich British Legion, on Lewin Street.

Middlewich Youth Theatre presented their version of the "Bisto Kids" with a mini performance outside the Main Marquee at the Canalside Town Wharf, with the groups children displaying typical costums of the early period of this very popular pair of the Middlewich Cerebos Company, Gravy Browning, advertising charactors of the early 20th Century. Why not come and join this progressive team of dedicated pupils and teachers. They give an opportunity to have fun and enjoyment with local people who provide talent and skills to benefit all.

Travel from Rethymnon, via SPILI. Head for the Southern coast using the main road, and you will eventually reach the town of Aghia Galini. Well worth the trip. The sea food is something different, and is a very nice place to spend a few hours, or even a day or two.

Having visited Knossos last year, we were determined to take a look at a similar site (not excuvated or refurbished to the extent of Knossos) and to compare the two sites. The Palace of Phaestos is just fantastic to visit as it is, but may well benefit with more of the site being exposed.

The person that has created this private Musuem, on the Plateau where the village of Askifou lies was 10 years old when the second WW was in progress in Crete. He was himself wounded during that time and lost a number of his relatives during the German Occupation between 1941 / 45. No longer with us, his grandaughter opens and runs the museum each day in the memory of her Grandad. He himself collected most of the items on show, with help from his brother, I think ?
